Musk axes Twitter board

After completing his takeover of Twitter on Thursday night, Elon Musk got to work straight away by firing several of the firm’s top executives before dissolving its board of directors.

Around a quarter of staff are said to be facing the axe as the tech mogul attempts to cut costs and refocus the popular platform.

Further priorities are reported to include increasing subscriptions, providing alternative algorithms and improving the app’s data targeting for ads.

Instagram inspires Snapchat’s new Director Mode

Snapchat has taken the wraps off its new Director Mode – and you’d be forgiven for thinking it looks a little familiar.

The new functionality brings more advanced editing tools to the app, including a green screen, variable playback speed options, improved editing tools, and dual camera controls.

Familiar to users of TikTok and Instagram, the new mode is a huge boost for creators who solely use the platform to engage an audience as it allows them to be much more expressive with the content they put out.

TikTok Unveils Marketing ‘Academy’

TikTok has launched a new education program for marketing professionals to get the best out of the platform.

It aims to provide marketers with tips to fulfil the potential of their campaigns whilst supplying insight to allow users better to understand the trends and behavioural shifts of their audiences.

There are currently two courses available that take up to five hours to complete. At the end of each module, you get a token to recognize your enhanced TikTok knowledge, which can be displayed on your TikTok account.

Instagram Provides A Festive Helping Hand 

With Christmas fast approaching, Instagram has announced a new series of live events that aim to provide creators with tips on obtaining the best results from their upcoming Christmas campaigns.

Three live sessions are set to be held between the 1st and 3rd of November featuring a range of speakers who have found success on the platform in recent years.

Alongside this, Instagram will also publish a new holiday checklist alongside insights from a host of Insta shopping experts.
