Chat GPT 5 is here and it is free for everyone
This new model is claimed to be the best yet when it comes to coding, writing, safety, accuracy and more.
The new GPT-5 model is available for use by anybody, however, Plus users have ‘significantly’ more use of the features and Pro users get unlimited use.
Sam Altman (Open AI CEO) has said, “GPT-5 is the first time that it really feels like you are talking to an expert in any topic.”
OpenAI also has claimed that the answers given are more accurate than any other previous GPT model, and the GPT-5 is 80% less likely to make a mistake in its answer.

Trump’s Truth Social launches AI search powered by Perplexity
Donald Trump’s social media platform is beta testing an AI feature, which will launch first on the web version of his platform.
Dmitry Shevelenko (the Chief Business Officer at Perplexity) has said “We’re excited to partner with Truth Social to bring powerful AI to an audience with important questions”.
With the addition of ‘Truth Search AI’, Truth Social gains an AI layer to its platform without the expense of building one, presumably in efforts to keep up with the likes of Grok on X.

IOS 26 beta 6 adds new ringtones, snappy app launches and more…
The addition of half a dozen new ringtones for Apple users was an unexpected addition that’s already getting attention on social media. Early adopters are particularly interested in the ‘Dreamer’ ringtone, which has been described as ‘crazy good’ by the early users.
There was some backlash over the way Apple changed how the camera mode switcher responds to touch. Users complained that the change broke their muscle memory, since the swipe gesture on this interface would reverse the scroll direction they were used to.
Other notable updates in the new beta include faster transitions and the introduction of new open and close animations for launching apps.

Bluesky reaches 38m users, though post volume is declining
The growth of social media app, Bluesky has just reached 38m total users this month, but the rate of posts has been declining due to lack of engagement on the platform – some claim it is becoming an echo chamber.
Many believed that Bluesky would grow to challenge brands such as X and Threads, however the growing rate is slowing, meaning X, currently on 600m users, and Threads, on 350m users are not worried about the rise of Bluesky.
However, some believe that Bluesky will introduce paid add-ons, due to their mounting costs.

Instagram takes on Snapchat with new ‘Instagram Map’
Instagram is rolling out ‘Instagram Map’, a new feature that lets users share their most recent active location with others and discover location-based content. This concept has been taken from a rival app, Snapchat.
Instagram notes that location sharing is off by default on Instagram Map, and a user’s location only updates when they open the app, so is not a real-time update. However, the Snapchat Map can do live-time tracking.
However, there is a real-time location feature to share with friends on the DMs section, but only for one hour at a time. Instagram claims this will make it easier for friends to coordinate hangouts.
