TikTok shares marketing tips and advice with brands in new video

In a new video from TikTok, the platform explores its main brand and marketing strategies, with an emphasis on how brands can engage creators more effectively.

Entitled ‘Do You Speak TikTok?’, the video hosted by popular train enthusiast and avid TikToker Francis Bourgeois, sets out to identify key trends, including music, brands can use to maximise their marketing efforts based on what people are seeking from brands on TikTok.

Francis is on hand to offer his own tips for brands working with creators including, after the platform has allowed him to share his passions, which has seen him go on to front brand campaigns for Gucci and more.

Instagram’s new test features take inspiration from BeReal

Photo-sharing platform BeReal is encourages users to “show your friends who you really are, for once,” by removing filters and opportunities to over-think, or edit photos. 

According to data.ai, the new channel that is based on a random prompt sent out to all users at a different time each day, that invites them to share what they’re up to, within 2-minute time period, has now surpassed 10 million downloads.

Now it seems that Instagram’s new test features have drawn many similarities to the up and coming platform. They have recently launched a new dual camera mode, which also enables users to capture content and their reaction at the same time, using their phone’s cameras simultaneously. In addition to this, Instagram is beginning testing on an option to add a QR code to your posts for others to scan to give your live location.

New ‘Family Center’ lets parents monitor teens’ Snapchat interactions

After months of development, Snapchat has officially launched its new Family Center, which will enable parents to monitor who their children are engaging with in the app, while respecting their privacy.

To access the platform, parents will need to sign up for their own Snapchat account, then access the Family Center option in the app. Parents will also be able to report any accounts that may be of concern, without alerting their child.

As part of Snapchat’s expanding protection tools, the new feature will sit alongside those already in place to stop unwanted messages between adults and youngsters and limit teens from showing up in search results.

Amid concerns about how it can be used in criminal activity, due to default encryption process, WhatsApp has announced some additional privacy features, providing even more assurance and control for users, in various respects.

WhatsApp is also giving users more control over how others see them in the app, with the option to switch off online activity markers. In addition to this new options will allow users to leave groups silently, so you can skip out of a group chat without alerting all group members as well as extending the time window for deleting your messages from your chats.
