Democracy has won the PR brief for online used car marketplace, heycar.
heycar already has more than 2,500 dealers and more than 100,000 cars on its UK site, which is aimed at connecting customers who want to buy quality cars with dealers who are selling them.
Manchester based PR and digital agency Democracy has now been tasked with driving awareness for the new brand through consumer and trade PR communications.
With newsmaking at its heart, heycar is the perfect win for Democracy, which has an award-winning pedigree for its agenda-setting national campaigns.
The agency will also work to communicate the brand’s proposition to bring ‘greater transparency and consumer trust’ to the used car industry which is estimated to be worth around £50bn a year in the UK.
Democracy, whose clients include Dulux, Tile Giant and Jack Daniels Barbecue Sauces, will be tapping into the news agenda at a huge time of change for the motoring industry and the way people are buying cars.
Jennifer O’Grady, the founder of Democracy, said: “We’re really excited to already be underway with heycar. It’s a really exciting client for us as it gives us a chance to really show off our great newsmaking skills with a company who are so new-to-market.
“We’re confident we can really put heycar in the minds of motorists who are looking to buy their next car.”
Olivia Jackson, Brand & PR Lead at heycar, said: “We’re really excited to have Democracy on board at such an important time for heycar. Brand awareness and education of our proposition, as well as listening to feedback from our customers, are going to be key to building our consumer and dealer base. Working with the team has already been a pleasure and their newsmaking ideas are brilliant.”
