PAUL WILCOX
Paul Wilcox is a former British Army veteran, Forest School practitioner, and the co-founder of We Are Adventurers. Having personally navigated the intense pressures and traditional constraints of the classroom as a student with dyslexia, Paul later discovered how alternative learning environments could unlock a child’s true potential.
Before dedicating his life to outdoor education, Paul completed a 12-year career in the British Army, where he served as a Sergeant and Depot Manager. This military background instilled in him a deep mastery of leadership, risk management, and forward planning, skills that seamlessly translated into designing safe, highly engaging and structured outdoor adventures for youth.
In January 2013, motivated by a desire to counter the rising "screen time" epidemic and growing societal disconnect from nature, Paul and his wife, Jennifer, established their Manchester-based organisation. Since its inception, Paul and his dedicated team have empowered over 10,000 children to thrive through hands-on bushcraft, den building, and woodland exploration.
