Markus Laubscher
Markus Laubscher is the Head of the Pharma Business Unit at Orbia Fluor & Energy Materials (formerly Koura).
A physicist by training with a PhD from EPFL Switzerland, he has spent over 20 years leading industrial innovation and sustainability efforts. Since joining Orbia in 2020, he has transitioned from directing circular economy initiatives to leading the pharmaceutical division's shift toward low-GWP (Global Warming Potential) medical propellants for respiratory therapies.
In his current role, he oversees the global manufacture and supply of Zephex® propellants, focusing on the launch of next-generation, climate-friendly solutions like Zephex® 152a to reduce the carbon footprint of propellents in inhalers by 90%.
His insights into sustainable regulatory adaptation and market evolution make him a valuable resource for media covering this intersection of pharma, chemistry and innovation.
He is available to discuss:
Why Orbia Fluor & Energy Materials is investing in sustainable innovations for respiratory pharma with its Zephex brand
How manufacturers can safely embrace the transition to low-GWP propellants in complex global markets adapting to regulatory changes
Why doing the right thing for the planet also makes perfect business sense
