Markus Laubscher

Markus Laubscher is the General Manager and Head of the Pharma Business Unit at Orbia Fluor & Energy Materials (formerly Koura).

A physicist by training with a PhD from EPFL Switzerland, he has spent over 20 years leading industrial innovation and sustainability efforts, including a significant tenure at Royal Philips. Since joining Orbia in 2020, he has transitioned from directing circular economy initiatives to leading the pharmaceutical division's shift toward low-GWP (Global Warming Potential) medical propellants for respiratory therapies.

In his current role, he oversees the global manufacture and supply of Zephex® propellants, focusing on the launch of next-generation, climate-friendly solutions like Zephex® 152a to reduce the carbon footprint of inhalers by 90%.
