TikTok gives everyone more control over what’s on their For You page
TikTok is expanding Manage Topics, a feature that lets you customise how often content in the platform’s top 10 categories surfaces in your feed.
After rolling out a pilot in the US last year, TikTok spokesperson Jessica Allen confirmed to The Verge that it’s now launching globally.
TikTok says the settings ‘won’t eliminate topics entirely, but can influence how often they’re recommended as your interests evolve over time’.

Meta is increasingly relying on AI to make decisions about user experience
Meta is increasingly relying on AI-powered systems for more aspects of its internal development and management, including coding, ad targeting and risk assessment.
Meta is reportedly planning to use AI for up to 90 per cent of all of its risk assessments across Facebook and Instagram, including all product development and rule changes.
They are confident that its AI systems can handle such tasks which it showcased in its Transparency Report for Q1, which it published last week.
LinkedIn adds more post analytics to help guide content strategy
LinkedIn’s adding some additional post analytics elements, in order to provide more insight into how your content is driving engagement and interaction in the app.
They are adding some new sections to its post analytics, including ‘profile activity’ stemming directly from each post, and ‘link engagement’, which relates to how your posts are driving CTA clicks.
As explained by LinkedIn:
“We often hear our members ask for more insight into how professionals are engaging with their content beyond likes or views.”
With the decline of X, LinkedIn has become a bigger focus of business-related discussion, and like all platforms, it’s now looking to add more incentives for creators to keep posting to the app.

Instagram creators with more than 100K followers will get access to additional comment filters
Instagram has announced that it’s expanding access to its comment filtering tools, with all creators with over 100,000 followers now able to access additional comment filters including ‘top comments’, ‘newest first’ and ‘follower count’.
These additional elements provide more ways to engage with your top supporters and focus on key interactions, which could help to amplify your posts through and connectivity.
It could also help you drive more subscriptions, by responding to those users as a priority, or ensure that those with higher reach within your niche are top of your list.

Left-leaning influencers remain active on X, despite supporting Bluesky
According to a new study conducted by Pew Research Center, many news influencers are now active on Bluesky, yet they continue to post on X as well, reflecting something of a soft protest to Elon Musk’s changes at the app.
Bluesky activity increased after the 2024 US election, with the sentiment being that many people had grown increasingly concerned about Musk’s rising political influence.
Most people tend to follow the crowd, which helps explain why X remains more popular than Bluesky – it reportedly has a much larger monthly user base (around 600 million) compared to Bluesky’s 36 million.
