Eisberg, the UK’s number 1 alcohol free wine has joined forces with the British Liver Trust to encourage the nation to love their livers.

January has been designated as ‘Love Your Liver’ month; an initiative which aims to educate Brits about good liver health, and the importance of taking two to three days off alcohol per week. Experts believe that taking two to three consecutive days off drinking alcohol can help the liver to regenerate itself and it minimises the chances of long-term liver disease.

Following the overindulgence of the festive period, this will be the ideal chance for the nation to take a pledge to cut down on their alcohol intake and to make positive steps towards achieving a healthy liver.

Andrew Langford, Chief Executive of the British Liver Trust comments: “Improving the health of your liver can have wide-ranging health benefits. It is your body’s factory, processing everything you eat and drink. If you look after your liver then your liver will look after you. It is the only organ inside the body that can regenerate, however you have to give it a break in order to do this. Each week, try taking at least two consecutive days off alcohol cut back on fatty foods and sugary drinks for a few days. Love your liver and let it recover.”

As part of the campaign, Eisberg and the British Liver Trust will be taking to the road, using a big red bus to bring ‘pop up’ liver health clinics to streets across the UK.

Visiting key cities including Glasgow, London, Liverpool and Birmingham, members of the public will be given the opportunity to climb aboard the double decker for an instant, non-invasive FibroScan liver test. Following the test – which can cost up to £1,000 privately – they will then be able to discuss any concerns, and talk through practical solutions to reduce the risks of developing liver disease.

And to prove that it’s easy to cut down on booze, there will also be a chance to sample Eisberg’s range of alcohol free wine. Available in Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon and Rosé, and with less than 34 calories per 125ml glass, Eisberg is the ultimate guilt free treat!
