The people at Democracy are our most valuable asset and we treat them with the respect they deserve, investing in their training and developing rewarding the hard work they do every single day.
We come from different backgrounds and contribute a range of skills and experiences, yet as a team there is much that we share. We’re all talented problem solvers, we have great skills in English, we have strong attention to details and we’re all able to form relationships quickly. In short, we are naturally good at the job we do.
We are always looking for good people, so even if we don’t have the perfect job description for you, please get in touch, we’d love to get to know you better.
So you you like data? Then we’re interested in your number. We’re pretty good at targeting audiences across Facebook, Instagram, twitter and beyond using paid social. So good that we keep expanding the team and have a couple of entry level positions for the right people.
The paid social team is integral to our agency – you’re good work makes sure that the right people see our amazing content at the right time.
This job is not for everyone (if you’re a traditional PR bunny *look away now*). We need people who devour data, who love to analyse it, interpret it, and present it. Who are brave enough to challenge it, to test it, to use it as a basis that will develop new ideas, new ways of working, award winning work through measurable results.
You don’t need a relevant degree (and you may have never attended University) – we’re looking for a quick brain and the right attitude. We’ll train you up – and you’ll become very good, very quickly.
Sounds interesting? Then send a one page CV and a cover letter explaining why you really want a job at Democracy to email@example.com. We’ll be in touch.
Entry level: PR Jobs Manchester
We are looking for two people to start their career in PR led engagement. You don’t need a PR degree, but you do need to have some kind of work experience in the industry – we want you to have already worked out that this is the kind of career you’re going to enjoy (it’s quite hard work!).
You’ll start a training and development programme to fast track your career in the industry – learning how to use the tools of the trade to be able to listen, learn and get involved with influencers across traditional, digital and social channels.
As you develop, you will help us to share our clients stories – communicating their purpose to the people who have the power to help share it. Making a difference every day.
It’s a steep learning curve – so expect your days to be packed with variety. Sounds interesting? Then send a one page CV and a cover letter explaining why you really want a job at Democracy to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll be in touch.

NB: we do not accept CVs from recruitment consultants for this position
Our culture is very supportive of each and every team member. We know that personal development at every level is very important and every team member has a personal development plan, using a combination of formal and informal training sessions to work towards goals that will help improve their skill set as they gain experience.
We all believe in our clients and we’re committed to help share their stories with the world.
PR Jobs Manchester: We start work at 8.30am and over coffee and papers we cover what’s making news that day. Our head of news and content Graeme McGilliard has 20 years of experience in newsrooms, and this part of the day is an opportunity to learn about news rooms as much as spotting opportunities for clients.
Then it’s onto the day – a heady blend of media relations, content planning and development, events and brainstorming. Lunch is often over the crossword, we like to stay sharp.
We finish at 5.30pm – and we really do finish then. We don’t encourage people to work late on a regular basis (we know there’s always that last minute pitch….), we prefer that you have a life, have some fun, get some sleep and come back ready to crack on the next day.
After hours, there’s plenty going on. We’re on Beech Rd in Chorlton (the Islington of Manchester), so wine in the sunshine is often the perfect end to a great day. There are monthly nights out, plenty of organised team experiences (this year the annual away weekend involves competitive sailing – you should know – we’re all VERY competitive) and even the odd game of pub golf.
We have a contributory pension scheme for all team members and a health scheme that offers cash back for a variety of appointments for health, dental and optometry.
We filter people out at CV stage people who don’t meet the minimum criteria (so read this page carefully, there are a lot of clues!). Then we’ll invite you in to complete a psychometric test. We’ve been testing people since the business started and it really helps us to find people who are naturally good at their job, but also those who will be happy here. Then, for those candidates who have scored highly, we will invite you in for interview.
